Little Girls : In this photograph you can see a group of little girls of primary school waiting outside their classroom for their turn to perform in a cultural program organsised at their school on the occasion of the 67TH Independence Day Celebration.The girls at the back are from the Nepali community and are ready for their perfromance and the ones in the middle of the frame belong to the Adivasi community, who are also waiting for their turn to perform.

That bright yellow background is fabulous, Farhat! It allows you to get away with overexposing the dresses on the two smaller girls in the sun! The sun is bright, the wall is bright, and all the skin tones look GREAT!

Hi Farhat,

I really love the virbrant colours. The lighting was very strong but still all the girls faces are correctly exposed. It is quite clear that if the girls in the middle in their bright clothes had been been in the shades the photo would have been a little bit better. It is a lovely photo as it is though. What I usually do when seeing such a pic. is to look at the faces expression's: marvelous innocent and disciplined girls, in an anticipation for their performance.
a bit of dtrong light from side's - but not a grand issue. Nicely spotted and collected the view.

Hello Farhat,
A charming portrait of this group of school children. The light was very difficult and you haven't been able to avoid some over-exposure round the two girls in the centre of the front row. Despite this, I find the photo very enjoyable.

This is a really great shot, the costumes create so much color under this glorious light but I can still see the sense of trepidation as the girls seem nervous of their big performance. Great daily life scene,

What a colorful display here. The costumes of the girls stand out really well against the yellow wall.
A pity though that the gorgeous dresses of the two girls in the center are a bit overexposed in the highlights. But then, when the sun was so strong there is not much one can do about it.

It's hard imagine what was it like when I was in primary school very long time ago but this image did brought back some happy memories for me. Nice capture of those young ladies in their finest outfit and very colorful too. Well done, tfs.

Very colorful photo. Before I read your note, I was thinking, "My, in India they get dressed for school like they were going to a wedding!" Now I see this was a special occasion.
I see that your camera struggled hard to manage the light and just made it! Partial sun reflected off light colors in shady places is really difficult.
I've been meaning to ask, what is the status of English in India? Is it an official language or is it just a tradition left over from the British rule?

Hello Farhat,
a lovely group of little students waiting for their turn to perform in the schoolyard. They all look serious and a little nervous, the time is approaching. The two little girls wearing white and standing in the sunshine look a little too bright but what's important to me is that we can see with excellent clarity all of the faces and most of the elaborate details and lovely colours on the costumes. What a delightful image, there's a delicate and innocent quality from this shot. It's also very bright and colorful, which goes hand in hand with the nature of children. :) Beautiful apparel displayed along with a sense of festivity. I very much agree that in this type of photo, the faces' expressions add a lot, and in this case is very much the case.

One looks at the image and can image what is going on in their thoughts. I think you captured the moment very well, and the young faces convey a mix of anticipation and eagerness for their performance.

What a nice shot of primary students waiting to perform in a cultural program. Pleasing light management, perhaps the aperture should be set at 6.3 or even 8.0 to avoid the washed out effect on the white dresses. doing so will lead to exposure problems of the faces. It is not an easy shot. Otherwise good photo job
