Photographer's Note
I took this shot when the Potter is busy with painting Goddess Durga's eyes at Kumortuli in Kolkata...
Only 2 days left to come our biggest festival Durga Puja :)...Durga Puja is the most important festival of Bengali in West Bengal state of India...I am also a bengali guy :)
Kumortuli (also spelt Kumartuli, or the archaic spelling Coomartolly) (Bengali: কুমোরটুলি) is a traditionally potters’ quarter in northern Kolkata (previously known as Calcutta), the capital of the east Indian state of West Bengal. By virtue of their artistic productions these potters have moved from obscurity to prominence. This Kolkata neighbourhood, not only supplies clay idols of Hindu gods and goddesses to barowari pujas in Kolkata and its neighbourhoods, but a number of idols are exported.

Hello Prasun,
Good use of the head, shoulder and arm to form a U-frame below. Also the colour contrasts are very interesting here. Good timing to position the pencil just right there.
Good informative note.
Have a good weekend.

Namaste Prasun,
the artist painting finely the idol of this Goddess is skillfully caught, in a good close-up that offers us all the details of the elements with a great sharpness.
The colors are vivid and give a lot of visual power to this scene of the daily life, which you offer us in a very well structured composition.
A good work.
Best regards,
Josep

Interesting subject with this artisan at work. Nicely composed image. I like the paint brushes in the left hand opposed to the painting right hand. Pleasant colours and interesting details.

Hello Prasun
Beautiful! The idol of Ma has been framed by the torso of the artist. What is important is that you've been able to show us the graceful artwork in progress. Shabeki Protima...so very beautiful! I was looking fwd to see some Durga Puja pictures in your pages

Greetings Prasun,
As an artist by avocation, I love to watch other artists at work — whether copying a work of a master in an art gallery, a sidewalk artist creating a portrait on a street, or in a potter's studio. You have included the artist and his work here very effectively. In the case of a sidewalk artist (not relevant here), it would be good to include the subject of the work of art also.
Warm regards,
Bulent
