Three men in a boat, a photo from West Bengal, East

Photographer's Note

.... a sunset over Ganga again, but with a difference.

That one I got suddenly, from the deck of MV Sumangal while going to Belur Math; between Howrah Bridge and Second Hooghly Bridge, it was shot. After snapping, when I was looking through the LCD I uttered one popular poem in bengali that was written by Satyendranath Dutta. "Chhipkhan tin dar tinjon malla" - "The boat, three men with three oars, moves long through all the day etc." A very rhythmic one, but unfortunately most of the TE members cannot sense it in bengali.

You got quite some sunsets now, this one is pleasant with the boat and the 3 men very sharp counterlighted in the scene, I think this is the best one out of your serie, Kausik.

Elegant job you did here Kausik. The mood is well presented, the bleached sun, the overall colour setting - and not least these 3 men in the boat. Beatiful scene..

now may I say what a beautiful "sunset" that you have captured... the reflection of the boat n the ripples in the water are bonus and I love the way those three men are sitting almost at equal distances from each other with their oars in totally differnt positions... though I would have preferred that boat at the center of ur frame...
