Photographer's Note
Kolkata Maidan (a very big ground). It was a Sunday morning. The ground was full with morning walkers, joggers, players, hawkers and lots of life was there. In the background is the Victoria Memorial Hall and while roaming around the ground my friend Subhajit also a TE member (subha_jit), showed me this man lying on the grass and watching the activities going around him. I found this composition very interesting. The man was static and so is the big Victoria Memorial, but in between the place was so dynamic. May be, the man was thinking of his past, his relationship with someone special, may be he was thinking of the sweetest dreams that he once thought of, may be he is alone now. I felt sad seeing the man detached from the humdrum of the place and lying alone on the grass.

This is a very different take on the Maidan. It may not earn you lots of greenies but it will head straight for my favourites. The relaxed man enjoying his moment of peace is the tooo good.

Well visualised shot. The overall perspective looks brilliant. the person relaxing at the foreground, the playful boys at the middle and the off focussed Victoria.all gives the essence of Kolkata.
Good shot.

Hi Sayan,
Excellent idea and well executed. Your low POV has succeded in capturing the view as seen by the man. Its very difficult to pinpoint why I like this so much, maybe I have so many fond memories of childhood - playing cricket on this very stretch of land, going out for a jog on foggy winter mornings...perhaps if I keep thinking I will get nostalgic like the man in your photo :))
Best Wishes

Your work has improved immensely, Sayan.
Keep shooting good pictures and all the best.
I am finding it difficult to keep pace with TE lately, mainly due to lack of materials. Secondly, I am focusing on only one of the trio sites: TrekNature.
Thanks for looking at my Shimla picture and leaving your comment.
Thanks and take care.

Hi Sayan!
Your fantasy gets wider and wider, my friend! Great idea and realisation. Very impressive composition and great light managment. Very interesting subjects both in the foreground, in the middler, and the background. Very clever title too! The only small problem is that there are some obvious signs of PP in the upper part of the photo. Besides that an excellent shot. Congratulations!

Ahh Sayan, don't feel sad friend...this gentleman is loving life right now. He is enjoying those things of childhood; the scent of the grass, the coolness beneath, the life going on around him as he enjoys the momentary solitude (when was the last time you laid in the grass, I cannot remember the last time for me?) Spot on composition and outstanding use of DOF, enough to keep all of the people sharp, but the buildings behind blurry. That effect keeps us focused on the man and the people behind, not the beautiful architecture...but it's there to know how beautiful this place is.
Just simply a wonderful shot.
Regards friend,
Chris.

hi Sayan,
this is quite cool. I like the depth of the shot showing all those small people against that large skyline. The foregound is very calm yet the background is very busy. Nice perspective you were able to find.

Dear Sayan
I like your idea here...taken with low POV this is very well exceuted. The placement of the three boys is excellent & of course the subject of the photo...the reclining man..I think he's lost in his own world..the warm subdued colours are excellent. Maybe a small amount of noise in the BG, but not bothering me. The caption is resonating a physicist! Well composed & well shot

Hi Sayan,
You focus perfectly on foreground with the different people as subject, the silhouettes of towers in background are light blurred this gives a very nice composition. You did very well! Thanks for sharing.
Have a nice weekend,

Hello Sayan,
This is an interesting composition, with the crowd enjoying different outdoor activities on a fine Sunday morning!
Many details for me to explore, composition wise the three guys to the left balance well with the domes in the background...
Rich colours & good details!

Hi Sayan, this is really a great picture, perhaps the one with most 'mood' i've seen today, so exotic for the little french that i am, that's why i love so much that site, make us travel without moving from our sofa, i'm like this man in foreground contemplating your marvel
Great use of DOF, once again this is a very good shot ... perhaps a little bit too much saturation
Excellent
