Photographer's Note

As i was leaving my guest house in Delhi for my first walk in the city, i spotted this cow lying in the middle of the street.. the colors impressed me and it took me some time to be able to shoot without cars all around...
this will end my short series on animal in india;-)

You are right the colours are great, and the profile of the dow is very nicely captured. But I do find the background too cluttered.

Après le cheval, voici la vache. Elle s'est choisie un arrière plan dont la couleur lui va à merveille. Tu venais de boire un verre de trop dans ton guest house? C'est que ça penche sérieusement à gauche...un poil de plus et la vache va glisser de son trottoir et disparaître du cadre..

Pas bête la vache, elle s'installe sur la séparation centrale pour passer la nuit peinarde...
Cadrage sympa avec le petit éléphant au loin qui donne une bonne impression au début d'une journée grisonnante et chaude...
dommage que tu arrêtes là ta série,
j'aurai bien aimé voir l'autre face...

il y a comme un vent de folie sur TE, tu fais dans l'animalier, le dragon volant a des hallucinations ...
Même remarque, pourquoi tu ne l'a pas photographié sous un autre angle ? l'arriere plan et le tilt me vont ..

Why why why? Why is it that everytime we are there on the streets of India, camera in hand and we come across a member of the bovine family, we just can't resist clicking the poor animals in their state of ignominy? What perverse photographic pleasures do we derive from capturing and openly exhibiting their discomfiture to the world?

It is a disease I tell you. And what's worse ... I suffer from it myself. See this to know what I mean. :-D

Hi Eric;

Nice shot! I find it interesting how the cows know to lie on the deviders in the roadway. You reckon they learned by getting "bumped" a few times? Or are cows really that smart?
My one suggestion would be shooting (not literally- that doesn't go over too well in India) from a different POV, maybe from the front?
