Shimla is the capital and the largest city of Himachal Pradesh. In 1864, Shimla was declared as the summer capital of British India. It has an average altitude of 2,206 metres above mean sea level and extends along a ridge with seven spurs. The main forests in and around the city are of pine, deodar, oak and rhododendron. Hello Miguel,
At the first quick look I thought you had gone all the way to Darjeeling. Some of these hill stations seem to look quite similar, which is natural, built at about the same time in similar environments. You found a great vantage point for this, and it's easy to imagine the tiresome steep streets and possibly staircases on the hillside. Again you handled the light and colours very well and the sharpness is perfect.

From TE pictures, I had learnt that the north India regions are very much resmble to Europe, Miguel, and here is a good example: Could easily think this is Swiss town or Italian town.

Bonjour Miguel,

On pourrait presque se croire en Italie avec toutes ces belles maisons accrochées aux flancs de la montagne. De belles couleurs aussi relevées par la belle luminosité.

This looks similar to Darjeeling or one of the several other hillside towns the toy train passes through as it ascends the range. Good sharpness and a terrific view. Tfs!

Hello Miguel,
A great view of the town built against the slopes and on top of the hills. The many houses create a great pattern and are also nicely mix with the many green parts.

Sin duda con esa altitud un esplendido lugar para el calor del verano, pero ademas la frondosidad del arbolado invita a internarse entre ellos, pero la ciudad parece tan masificada como el resto de la India.
Colores maravillosos en tonos suaves.
