Nanda Ghunti(6309 mts - 20800 feet) as seen from Bhaguabasa

Mention the word "inhospitable" and Bhagua Basa comes to my mind... It was our next camp after the beautiful Bedni Bugyal on our way to Roopkund. After a trek of 12 kms over 6 hours, which included a steep climb of 4 kms, we finally found ourselves at Bhagua Basa at 4200 mts. There was snow all around and it was continuously snowing... we cleaned some area and pitched our tents. Temperature fell below zero in the evening and was around -10 during night...

There is a silver lining behind every dark cloud. For us, it was the awesome view of Himalayas we got next morning... right from Bandarpunch in the east, Bhagirathi, Kedarnath range and Chaukhamba to Neelkanth in the west... Nanda Ghunti & Trishul seemed almost at a stone's throw...
