Photographer's Note

"Om Parvat" is located in Kumaon hills of Uttranchal State in North India. "Om" is holy chant in Hinduism and Budhism. "Parvat" in Hindi language means mountain. Snow makes a natural "Om" letter in Hindi on this mountain thus it is named as Om Parvat. Om in Hindi alphabet is clearly visible on the mountain.

Meaning of Om from Yahoo Answers - "Om is a syllable that is said in Hinduism to be in itself God. It is the eternal sound, the sound of the creation of the Earth. It is used in Hindu meditation and meditation of religions that are influenced by Hinduism to help bring peace on the person who is meditating and to become closer to God."
