Photographer's Note
This was taken in Mumbai... had gone there just for a day, for the funeral of a friend who once, meant a lot to me.
Obviously, the day in itself was quite a disaster and there was a gloom that had set in-but to add to that, there was the sky. It was gloomy and dark for five minutes, then rain for the next ten minutes and then be sunny the next few minutes. This kept happening throughout the day.
My friends maternal grandmas house is in Andheri West and has huge bay windows. I was standing at one of these and just staring out when i saw this site. It lasted for a few minutes and I was franticly looking for a camera(as i wasn't carrying mine) and managed to find one with my friend and clicked this. I'd like to put this image up as a tribute to her (and i wish i could say sorry to her for whatever i did wrong).... Thanks!
tech: just fixed the levels.

The wires really should be removed (sometimes one should handle very soberly with the product of his emotions), but the picture is very strong even with them. Not only for dramatic sky, clouds and sunrays. You caught the harmony of your momental mood with the mood of atmosphere. I am not sure if it would work without your note (I think yes), but with it the impression is strong.

Indeed this is really expressing your feelings in a very nice way , the piercing light of hope beyond the clouds towards dark reality.

great work here, I like the sky tremendously and the buildings, it is a shame though that the wires are in the way, but that is life for you
great work

Very dramatic capture! I like the composition of the colours and the rays. A rare chance opportunity photo. Good job.

Hi Smrithi, great capture of the sun beams bursting out from behind the cloud. The urban silhouette makes a good foreground for this natural spectacle. Well done.

Great sky you cought here. Wonderful lighting, these sunrays are "living" behind the buildings silhouettes. The scene is well rendered, good timing too. Fine catch and thanks for sharing Smrithi!

Very fine cloud with a silver lining you spotted here - the sunbeams very bright - a fine capture - I tried to get something like this lately - but without luck.
Well done Smrithi

Great capture of the sunrays in this shot, as well as the silhouette of the buildings. Would maybe try straightening it up but.

Ma chère, ton image de fin de jour est magnifique,ce soleil qui tente de déborder par dessus le nuages, magnifique comme cette ces immeubles qui semblent eux, se préparer à s'endormir pour la nuit. Amitié/jr
