Photographer's Note

Golden Temple is the holiest of shrines of Sikhs, thousands of devotees visit to pay their obeisance. It was a weekend which meant place attracting even more greater number of devotees. People can be seen lining in the ques for their moment of devotion. Many people as in the image sit around the pool for rest and some who cannot stand in the que pay obeisance from here only. And you will find everyone facing towards the golden temple in the middle, center of all the attraction & faith of the people.

Interesting photo. Isn't this temple in Amritsar? Nice with the three groups of people in the foreground, but I feel that it would have been better if the girl with the yellow scarf had been facing the centre of the photo. That, in combination with the blue shirt man, sort of bring the eye outside the frame.

Beautiful photo, a combination of a daily life and architecture, as well as a ceremony. I love the festive atmosphere as all the local in their beuatiful and colorful traditional clothes joining together for the events. The golden temple is an eye catcher that draw our vision in and then to discover all the fetivities. The people in the foreground adds so much depth and adds liveliness to this compostion. for those of us who have never been to India, this is such a great educational photo.
i never knew there was such a constant lineup of people waiting to go inside the golden temple.
and the people sitting outside here is a great foreground atmosphere. fantastic photo

Hello Jugnu,
This is a splendid composition with a strong foreground and a line that connects it with the main shrine. People are seen sitting in groups talking and patiently waiting. The colours are mild and pleasant to the eye.
I have to admit that almost 40 years ago I spent a half day and a night in Amritsar without visiting the Golden temple. I was young and unaware of its importance and grandeur. It was one of my greatest mistakes during all my years of travelling and I still regret it.

Nice scene of daily life in the Golden Temple, with people waiting to enter.
I like the foreground with people sitting on the edge of the pool. They create a good composition and add a few beautiful colors to the image.
