Temple is a place where one becomes peaceful. It is customary for Hindus to sit inside the temple quarters after visiting God. There is a valid reason behind it. When you stand in front of God, your ego, anger and mental stress all vanish. It is a belief that by sitting for a few minutes, our minds will be calm and more peaceful. It also gives an opportunity to strike conversation with people you know or may not know. Here, these 2 old ladies are engaged in deep conversation. Looks like they are waiting for other members from their families.

Nice moment collected, Lakshmi, as chatting ladies as main subject. The enhanced colors adding to the ambiance on image, and there are interesting details on the pillar, and good depth into the colorful and illuminated store.

I tried to critique this several times, but kept getting booted out of TE altogether. Eventually I clicked on your 'critiques received' & reached it that way. A superb daily life scene with good sharpness & diffused light. The carving on the support column almost seems to be eavesdropping! Tfs!

Good capture showing moments of life.
People feel a secured mood , when they are in a temple premise , and that's the element here. Fine details of daily life is shared in this frame.
Personally , I don't like the background business done in the temple premises in our land. But we can't do anything. All these will go on forever. Our land and people are now like that.

Hello Dear Lakshmi!

With the atmosphere captured in the photo and the sound associated with the image, the photo invites us into the scene. The well-activated background brings out the foreground with a lively ambience. The contrast which exists in between the two ladies involved in conversation and another lady who is staring into the space in front of her, everything in this photo is full of fascinating details. I wonder what the two ladies in front are talking about, as you also seemed to have been intrigued by them. The photo contains a wonderful collection of daily life involving all the people in the image. It is almost just as good as being in the space with them. The well-activated photographic image carries an enormous amount of information. A superbly portrayed image is a ticket to India!!

Hello Lakshmi,
I like this nice snapshot of daily life in southern India. The three ladies are well captured in various postures, two talking, one just resting her feet and maybe waiting for others to arrive. in the background we see life going on peacefully at the entrance to the temple. The composition shows a nice mixture of contemporary commercialism and ancient architecture. The light is very well handled with good contrasts and well kept colours.

A marvelous capture, Lakshmi! They seem totally unaware that there is a camera nearby. The lady in the foreground seems lost in her thought/meditation and that is a nice contrast to the two who have something important to discuss. In Catholicism too we go to Adoration to sit with God and listen..."ego, anger and mental stress all vanish"...you have put that very well and it is nice to know that such meditation unites us. The colors and composition of this photo are very good and the detail of the elaborately carved column is sharp and clear. I would never know that you had a small vision problem, had you not said so on your page, your photos are very well done. All the best, Sara

Thanks for your visit Lakshmi.
Lot of exotism seen here, convied by those colourful costumes, complexions and ways of making the most of blessings by loitering around the temple.
I see that merchants did not miss the occasion!
Much depth is created by the allover pilgrims display.
