Photographer's Note

Colors of Life : This is a pretty old image taken on Independence Day last year at Darjeeling during the Parade ceremony at North Point School ground. I liked this shot a lot for its layers of multiple colors.Here we get to see the National Cadet Corps (NCC) members in the front in their Khaki uniforms,followed by members of a school participating in the parade in yellow dresses and bright beret caps and lastly at the back row ,the members of the Darjeeling Police Pipe Band playing their tunes.The multiple variety of colors is symbolic of the vast ethnic,religious as well as racial diversity of the Indian people.

Hello Farhat,
This is an interesting and colourful photo with many very different faces to watch and enjoy. The young women of the NCC look a lot more disciplined than the boys in yellow shirts who are looking in all directions. I would say, however, that the sharpness is not as good as the composition.

Hello Farhat,
you have cropped this distant capture in a decisive and effective way. I like very much the layers of colour and the many young faces that fill the frame. They all have almost the same expression carried away by the spectacle and the music (some look a little bored, though:) You must have taken this picture from a long distance, it's quite clear and well illuminated and the colours are fine. You did well to place the vivid yellow in the middle. Congratulations and thank you!

Colorful indeed! Great framework, I love how this is layered for maximum effectiveness of those colors. I've always enjoyed these types of images, each person has their own expression and moment in time that is a treat to look over and wonder what they're thinking at this particular moment?? :) Very good foresight to envision this scene and compose it for a delightful image. This is indeed a very pretty photo with bands of different colors, as you say. Frankly, I like the combination of yellow and dark blue, they are the colors of the football (soccer) team Fenerbahçe, my favorite.

nice the view of all these troops that taking place in the Parade ceremony of the city.I like the variety of the colours of their dresses with the yellow ones in the middle to be the eye catcher of the image.
Excellent presentation as the light management of the scene.

I like the last sentence in your note, Farhat - this really rendered the differences on this pic. and about India at a whole.

Most of those kids were attracted by sometning enthralling out of frame, to the point they don't seem interested in the loud blast behind them!
A human flood in wich the yellow acts as eye-catcher.

The colour combination of the parading youngsters is extraordinary: there is brown-green, followed by yellow, then the dark blue and finally the very light blue ... These contrasts make it tick.
