Selling vegetables, a photo from Gujarat, West

Photographer's Note

This one was taken in the same market. These three women were selling some vegetables.
I really enjoyed this place. It's a really authentic market in a little village in the region of Chhota Udaipur, not far from Vadodara.
Once again, I found no western people around, except us, as this area is far from the tourist routes. No souvenirs or stuff for tourists, here the only things we can find are exactly the things the locals need and buy.

Good Morning Ana,

A delightfully candid shot of these ladies in the market place. As you note, this is the real India, not a tourist in sight.
I just love all the details that you have given us, the carts, the stalls, the boxes and, of course, these ladies without a any sort of a display other than the carrying bags.
A nice, angled pov, which leads directly to the focal figures.

Hello Ana,
A very ordinary view from an Indian street but a nice shot. The three ladies look fairly uninterested in your camera but still manage to give you nice smiles. I like the colours and the variety of goods on sale here. I visited Gujarat decades ago and enjoyed the absence of tourists. It's nice to hear it is still not totally occupied by tourists.

Una foto maravillosa, que ademas del encanto que nos aportan estas tres vendedoras de verduras, el fondo de la imagen con tanta riqueza de elementos, la hacen sumamente interesante para decubrir multitud de objetos.

Faces expressions made this so look as your trade-mark on India pic.s of yours.
Colorful market surrounding, "busy" with many elements, and good light and clarity rendered.
Back to the ladies: the one on left was happy to be in photo, the middle one forced a smile knowing it is common thing to do when there is a camera around, and the older lady on right was a bit inquisitive before smiling...

what a crazy and appealing mix of colors ~ this photo jumped out at me immediately from the thumbnail. and reading your note, i'm impressed by the authenticity of this market. lucky you to have found it ~ i too, always look for, and feel happy to find, the non-tourist areas ~ but it is okay if we are there, of course ;)

i love their expressions of puzzlement and perhaps even skepticism.

esta foto se parece com aquelas que o Miguel geguel costuma postar mostrando feiras e povo na rua. muito bonita a luz indireta e a pose natural das mulheres com as mercadorias. bem feito, como sempre.
por aqui terminamos uma noite muito quente depois de dias com tempestades de primavera.
