La légende dit que les dieux lachèrent un cygne avec un lotus dans le bec. Il devait laisser tomber ce lotus à l'endroit où Brahma devait procéder à un yagna (rituel hindou). C'est à Pushkar qu'il fit tomber ce lotus. C'est pourquoi Pushkar est l'un des rares lieux en Inde où est consacré un temple au dieu Brahmâ. Pushkar est située sur les rives d’un lac. 52 ghats (escaliers) permettent aux pélerins de descendre au niveau du lac pour se baigner dans les eaux sacrées.

  In Hindu mythology it is said that the gods released a swan with a lotus in its beak and let it fall on earth where Brahma would perform a grand yagna (ritual). The place where the lotus fell was called Pushkar. Pushkar lies on the shore of Pushkar Lake with 52 ghats where pilgrims descend to the lake to bathe in the sacred waters.

what a beautiful picture with great pov! The composition, the details, colour, clarity ... everything fantastic. The foreground is perfect with the brightly dressed ladies. The view of the town across the clear blue water is a fine backdrop. The exposure and management of light are superb. Thanks for sharing and my compliments.

Hello Patrick,

You were lucky to see Pushkar Lake with water. When I was there one year later, it was all dry, only small artifial pools were filled wit water.
Very nice compostion with the pale blue houses on teh other side of the lake and wonderful colours of the women's dresses.

I think we all associate India with deep spirituality and this scene gives us good insight in this aspect of life in India.
I like the way you captured the scene(especially these three ladies wearing colorful dreses).

Les ghats n'étaient pas très fréquentés à cette heure de la journée! Joli contraste de couleurs entre les saris du premier plan et la ville bleue.

Bonjour Patrick,

J'aime beaucoup la luminosité et la lumière de l'endroit. Ca donne un environnement clair qui tire sur le blanc-bleu. C'est d'autant mieux mis en valeur avec la présence des saris très colorés en premier plan.

If don't have these women with colorful dress, I would say it's in Greece. These waterside houses a lot like alongside the Aegean Sea, very sunny and pleasant. The angle you took this picture is perfect.

the colourfully dressed ladies are a nice introduction to the scene with the white buildings also adding their interest but it`s the man at the water`s edge holding the large sheet that intrigues me.

there seems to be something interesting to view in basically all parts of the scene.
lots of blues, and pale blues, but the star of the scene must be the people in the fg.
the splashes of color really make their presence felt.
