Photographer's Note

The Chopper and the Crowd : This is my second photograph on TE being shot on a mobile phone.This time on a I-phone 4S model.In this image you can see a chopper taking off from a helipad with a large crowd watching its dust raising motion.The image was taken in the outskirts of Calcutta during a Political campaign,When a political stalwart is moving to another venue for campaigning boarding the chopper with the large crowd waiting to see their leader and the chopper as it leaves.There are two young boys who have climbed a soccer goal post to get a closer look.The cops are busy keeping the crowd within the bamboo channels.Hope you like this image although the quality of resolution may not be upto the mark.

Hi Farhat
This is a very interesting photograph. The emotions on the faces tell a lot. Especially liked the policeman on the foreground, shouting on the phone and doing a sprint too.
Nice contrast you have brought out - on one hand, we have the crowds enamoured by the copter, and then we have a politician for whom a copter ride is just like any other.

Nice snapshot in quite good light. Excellent arrangement with the helicopter in BG and the crown on the side. You have also well placed the policeman in the frame. Big issue your elections, I was following it on CNN & BBC.

there are many details to see,
the quality is not so bad as you write in your note,I would say is better than many other photos where are taken with a dslr camera and we see every day in web ...

Hello Farhat,

You may have only used a mobile phone but the composition and details are very well portrayed. You have excellent guides, a sense of drama from the pointing official and contextual details from the clouds of dust!
I love the enthusiasm, where people are climbing to wave at the helicopter!

Excelent result for the Cell photo, inspite the dust and strong light, Farhat.

An interesting report on the election and campaigning in WB... I was in Goa at the time and they only use cars there!
