Country Road - Take me home

A nostalgic moment while going to Nathula,China Border in Sikkim.The mountain road and the way back home ,far from the ragged hills.This small truck was passing through the perilous winding road of East Sikkim on way down to Gangtok.The views around were breathtaking and unforgettable for many days to come.

Just to refresh your memory :

Hello Farhat,

The song sets the mood. Now I will be singing it all day!
A very well composed shot and, of course, made more vibrant by the colour of the truck!
It is easy to pick up how rugged the terrain is.
What does surprise me is the exposed pipe by the roadside. Is this common or is the pipe being newly layed.

Must be a lifetime experience to go to Nathula. I can understand bumpy road travelling on hilly areas.

Bonjour Farhat,

Il faut être très prudent sur ces routes de montagnes. Les camions passent à toute vitesse et n'observent pas toujours le code de la route. Quelles belles montagnes en arrière plan.

Hi Farhat,

An apt title for this shot, and a note which drives it home. (Yes, pun intended. :)) With just a small sampling of the region, there is a good idea of the views you mention, the altitude must surely make for some awe inspiring vistas. This red truck set against the blue sky makes for a lovely color combination too. Far from West Virginia, but the idea is just the same...take me home. Enjoy the new day. All the best.

Looks like one of the roads we used to travel in the Philippines, I hope they had a safe travel but then it's not raining so not worries about flooding or landslide. Nicely captured with good details. Well done, tfs.

depth and perspective are very effective and the placement of the truck at the side, just before it disappeared from the frame is original and interesting. It allows us to observe the arid landscape which looks unfriendly and fascinating at the same time. The colours are hard and the contrasts attractive. There's sense of movement and of isolation, too. Howdy Farhat,

Interesting scene, rough arid mountains and dirt road access.
Country Roads is appropriate, however West Virginia is very green and the Shenendoah Mountains heavily forested. This is more like a scene from the U.S. state of Nevada or Arizona.

Interesting that this is far from the country roads I envision when I listen to John Denver. This is different but ruggedly pretty. On top of that, you place a red Tata truck and my hear melts away...
