Photographer's Note
This shot is dedicated to my friend Hirak Dutta
********** ******** **********
Can you read on the back of the T-shirt ,this girl is wearing?
""FEEL FREE"".
Yes, Our society is going through a difficult phase.
Drug Addiction!!!
Why the young man and women poison themselves?
Why do they not want to listen to their parents and well wishers?
Is it their NEED?
Whats wrong with their bodies?
Why they donot want to listen...to the ...repeated calls of their well wishers?
Parents& friends are not their enemies...they love them, but why the addicts feel that they are not loved? ...that they are not cared for? etc etc
This addiction leads to destruction...and...only distruction.
I donot know the solution because I feel the only solution is LOVE....but if the addicts reefuse to believe that they are really loved...what is the solution?
Do you know?
Can you share for all ?
and this feel free attitude will lead to Psychosis and may be Nerosis

Hi Rajeev,
Although the couple share the frame, they appear distant. Well captured with beautiful contrast and lighting. Good Note too. Regards. Danilo

Rajeev,
I had a self-imposed curtail of not commenting/critiquing any pictures in TE after they revoked my Critique ability for about 10 days or so.
But the topic in your picture made me to break it.
The guy in the picture is looking at you. Was he aware that you are taking a picture?
Was he having drugs then?
The mood of the picture is reflected well in the choice of b/w for this picture.

Hello Rajeev.
Boy, you've tackled a tough question here. I think the shirt explains the mindset particularly well...These people feel that freedom cannot be acheived through any practical means in a real life situation. Unfortunately it is a result of many factors, not the least of which is daily stress growing ever more prevelant in todays society. Children are exposed to an ever increasing barrage of sensory overwhelming stimulants...buy this, visit us, work here, get these grades, be better, do better, don't make mistakes etc...Although these pressures have existed through time, they do seem to be present in evermore increasing quantities as of late. Drugs and substance abuse have existed forever and probably will continue to exist if we are not able to cure the root causes. Purely based on memory, major outbreaks in drug use tend to happen during times of great change in societies...the scurge of alcohol to the Native Americans, the opium craze during the industrial revolution, the late sixties with the civil rights movement and the Vietnam war. With humans and thier great mental senses, such turmoil can be overwhelming and sometimes can lead to a need/want to escape. You are right to observe that a strong family bond can present a child (or any family member)with the proper foundation (love) so they do not fall prey to a life in the gutter...sometimes there needs to be more. Sometimes understanding can be the best cure.
As always I truly enjoy B&W, the capture of the shirt creates a story as well. This shirt coupled with the introverted and paranoid look of the man play off one another quite nicely...I do not think he feels free...
Regards brother,
Chris.

Bonsoir Rajeev,
Une photo surprenante, intéressante et philosophique après lecture de la note.
L'idée est originale et fort bien composée.
Il y a de la recherche dans cette composition.
Amitiés.

Great shot Rajeev. It looks the girl and the man are a couple but they have a fight and now are like children one back to another :D
About your note you said "Why do they not want to listen to their parents" I think many time the younger use drog because the parents don't talk with they, don't give the love they need.
Hugs

Well from her body language I am gathering that she is feeling a severe lack of freedom here. I could be dead wrong but usually people position their bodies in relation to others in how they feel. It seems to me that these two have some issues to resolve.
Your comments to this photo brought up some interesting points. Its impossible to respond to them all other than to say...
If God made you to have a sharp mind why would you want to ruin it with mind altering drugs?
If God wanted us to live in harmony with each other and love for each other why are we so selfish in serving our own interests instead of thinking of others?
Good work Rajeev!

Hello brother,
First of all i really want to know what happened after this pic as the guy is looking at you while u were clicking..!!!!
Secondly can u see the y shaped branch between the two persons..??? she has worn the t shirt with FEEL FREE but is she free...r we free..???
are we free from the emotional tangles
are we free from the drug abuse as u said
are we free from corrupt politicians
are we free from our own inhibitions
are we free from supertitious
are we free from suppression\
are we free from our own self.......
had we been then there was no need for this to be the write up on a t shirt ...the example is in yr pic...even the branches are asking "y" or WHY.....
