Photographer's Note
Born 1915 during the first world war; married at the start of World War 2,gave birth to her first daughter in the year they bombed Hiroshima, saw the British leave India in 1947 and felt the horrors of partition, saw her first electric light in 1957,became a grandmother in 1960,sat through the bombing of Jodhpur in 1965 and again in 1971 by the Pakistanis, saw 6 Prime Ministers come and go, met Indira Gandhi in 1973, survived an earthquake in Himachal in 1975 and again in 1990, became a great grandmother in 1992...the list goes on and on...
Yes I think she's been there; done that!

Great shot and great note Vijay - your title made me laugh. What a wonderful face, it's seen a lot of years and I hope she enjoys the time that's left. DOF is nice, and I love the cup of tea (?). Maybe a bit much shadow on her face but I like it a lot.

I love your note and title, right on the spot!
Great portrait, B&W suits perfect and brings out the details in her face very well. Her expression in combination with the title is priceless!
Very well done!

I agree with spence and Rhiannon – great title and note. I like her meditative expression. B&W works very well. Well framed, too.
Excellent work, Vijay.

beautiful portrait Vijay...she must be proud of you...
I love the way she looks away from you...her thoughts carried away in that cup of tea..
she reminded me again La Passionaria..on her refusal to a TV producer for make-up "I gave my years to have these wrinkles"..

Nice Shot! Nice Note! Nice Expression!
I just wonder how would it look in Sepia?
With a little dodging on the left hand side on the shawl!
Just wondering!

Lovely textures, both in her face and clothes. Very good lighting and B&W seems a good choice for this old lady and her wrinkles.
