Photographer's Note

This was taken in a sleepy little village, named Reika - At least, I think thats what it was called. I went there with a lad from Ramapir Tekro slum, where I was working. He told me thats what the place was called.

Until now, I had never been so close, for such a long women whom keep their heads covered. They do this when they are around men, other than their husbands, fathers etc (not father in law, brother in law). It was quite difficult for me, as I am used to speaking with men in the same way as I would to females. Unmarried girls do not wear the veil, but it is, of course a crime not to be married at my age...

I thought this was a little dark, so I have been avoiding posting - is it ok?
