Happy Diwali!, a photo from Goa, West

Photographer's Note

Today, it is Diwali, the beginning of the Hindu year, and here in Goa there are marigold sellers everywhere.
During Diwali, the houses are thoroughly cleaned and decorated with garlands of marigold and other flowers.
The main idea behind the custom of decorating the homes and offices on diwali is to please and attract the Goddess of wealth, Lakshmi ji.

J'en regrette presque de ne pas etre sorti avec toi! Tu as chope une super lumiere ici donnant ces couleurs chaudes... ils ont l'air relax . On voit bien qu'il y en a toute une file au bord des routes.

No doubt that India is a very colorful country, every where you find sharp colors with beautiful contrast, in your magnificent shot you captured the essence of the people with wonderful smiles. Good POV, light and composition.

Hi Marilyn,
a wonderful colour impression with all those flowers and the smiling people. I like the composition with the two in fornt and a second group a bit aside. Clear, bright, sharp and impressive.

D'abord c'est une belle situation, une photo éclairée par les couleurs et l'attitude des sujets.
Les guirlandes en tas sont interessante et la perspective fait ressortir l'abondance (ils doivent en vendre des kilomètres).

Olá Marilyn, I remember well this day when I was there last year. Very festive, colorful and...noisy atmosphere. Nice vertical decoration from the ground to the crown on his head ;-) It's allways fun to see people smilling and enjoying while we take photos of them. Well captured with a beautiful lighting.

what a graceful capture! Very funny scene. The sellers seem to be nice guys but what pleases me a lot in this one the the warm light that comes from the right. It brings an excellent luminosity to the compo. Very fine job!

Happy Diwali! A very good street photograph in very good light. Good colours of the marigold. I like the funny aspect in the picture as the other guy is garlanding the flower seller. Very nice!

j'aime bien fouiller les photos precedantes. Desfois je tombes sur les merveilles comme celle-ci, par son sujet et des couleurs irresistibles. L'orange que je mets partout ou il n'est pas normalement. Chez toi il ne manque pas. J'aime bien, donc, et je souris deux fois.
