Photographer's Note
a picture I took not so long ago at Curug Cilember, West Java.
The place itself is a highly commercialized tourist attraction just outside Bogor, West Java. It is located on a hillside, seven consecutive waterfalls in all. One have to hike for about 30 minutes from one spot to the next one. It's a leisure trek though, with paved road and moderate steepness. So it's a family-friendly hike. There's a campsite nearby, but expect a full house on school holidays, especially in some of the nearer waterfalls. As you go higher, the crowds are significantly diminishing.
I took this picture on a tripod with a wide-angle Sigma and Ilford SFX IR filter attached behind the lens. I won't take a risk taking out the filter and attaching it again for compositioning, thus exposing my CCD to water and dust, so I make a composition without looking at the viewfinder at all, hoping that the extreme wide nature of the lens permits me to crop the photo l8r if necessary...

Excellent nature shot. Exposure is just right.
Although it looks wonderfull in B&W i also wonder how it will look in colour.

A very unusual choice of BW for a composition like this which incidentally is pretty good knowing that it was shot blindly. I am very interested in the lens you used here... the Sigma 15-30 EX DG IF. How expensive is it and what is the max aperture. Could you please let me know.

I like this one. I am wondering how you managed to keep keep the leaves so sharp during a 22 second exposure. There must have been absolutely no wind that day.

I like your composition, with the two sets of waterfalls, and the smoothing out of the water. Nice capture of the leaves in psuedo-IR. Perhaps you could have burned in the leaves to make them a bit darker on the upper part of the pix, as they look washed out. But still a good shot.

Amazing shot! I love the fairytale feeling of the curtain of water. Good composition too. Thanks for sharing.
