"This is an invitation
Across the nation
A chance for the folks to meet
There'll be laughin' and singin' and music swingin'
And dancin' in the streets"

Song: Dancing in the Street
It doesn't matter what you wear, no guys grabbing girls, or records playing for that matter, just some young rockabilly's clad in black from tip to toe. Add to that the generator power supply, the large stereo system, the hair dryers and the hairspray they lugged with them for this little gathering and you have yourself a rockabilly rockout in the park. It is quite common to see these guys gathering (usually small groups of 5-10) on weekends for a little dance session in the park.
So what is rockabilly - quite possibly a hard term to pin down. In simplest words, it's a blend of blues, country and gospel sounds of American music that were prevalent, up to the mid 1950's. Mixed with a heavier beat by a host of recognizable names like Elvis, Ricky Nelson, Johnny Cash, and Jerry Lee Lewis to get your start. These are just some of the names of rockabilly artists most people have heard.

Nice backDROP here. The key for this pic was obviously the time. 1/200 seems like a good choice (although one could have chosen a lot which would have worked (and even more that wouldn't)). The guy appears frozen (except his boot) against the flowing water. Good choice on BW as well. There is plenty of action in the pic!
Best,

A scene very common in the big cities of Japan, you have captured this very originally. I like how you have put the fountain in the background. His dancing stance is quite funny, and I like the movement of his boot.
Overall an excellent shot.

wonderful... now that the weather is cooling, I must get into Central Park, Sakae and be entertained by these guys more often!!!
I love the framing of this shot... the rocker off to the left. His foot in the air and space to the right give the impression that he's going to move off in that direction. Great sense of movement (rocking!).
Thank you!

Hi Brendon - love this combination of movement both in the Rockabilly and the water in the background working together.
