Photographer's Note
I wanted to photograph the boats and cherry blossom around the moats of the Imperial Palace, but I only found the place when the sun was already quite low and the moat in shadow. Luckily I was able to make use of this by shooting from above, through the softly backlit boughs. So I didn't get the shot I had hoped, but I think this is perhaps a more unusual view.
I have several similar shots (and indeed may post one or two more in future), but I particularly like this one because of the little girl trailing her hand in the water, as grandpa rows her around the moat.
I did a bit of post-processing, including a softening filter in picnik, to take the edge off the reflections in the water. I masked out the boat so that remained in focus.

A pleasant intimate view, very well and poetically composed through the blossoming branches.

Hello Charlotte,
Beautiful lighting in this original composition. The blurred branches do not worry me, the main subject is outstanding. Nice texture on the water.
Good job. Regards.

Hello Charlotte.
A lovely image of the first days of Spring. The blurry blossoms make a wonderful frame for the delightful picture of the man and little girl in the row-boat. Lovely shimmering light on the water too. A first class photo, which I think deserves more recognition. Good note, too, explaining your very successful PP work.
Regards,
Andrew
