NOTES:
Sam- yes I agree. This was taken shortly after I bought my 85 mm 1.2f lens and I was a bit gung ho on the DOF allot. after all of use and killing some decent shots because the subject was out of focus due to to shallow DOF I have... humm leanred?

Wonderful! Good choice of DOF, good compostion, the blue shade in the foreground could maybe be cropped though. The colors and shapes are really nice, so is the light.

Great subject, light and DOF. That´s what the excellent images are made out of...

Great focus on a particular scoopy thing. I should know the name after living in Japan for over a year now!!!
The title could be CLEANSING? maybe, because they tend to wash their hands before entering anykind of temple in Japan.
I love the way you framed this picture, absolutely perfect. If we saw water dripping from the ladle, it would have been sensational. Well done

Good composition. I light the warm like and the use of shallow DOF. However, in this shot I wish there was a bit more DOF. The out-of-focus cups fade to unrecognizable blobs almost immediately. I would prefer to see a gradual progression. I'd also like to see a bit more shadow detail instead of so much pure black.

Excellent work! I like the diagonal, fading away composition, and the play of soft focus and warm light is very attractive...

Excellent demonstration of DOF mastering!
Textures are very interesting too...
