Photographer's Note
This morning when i went to work, There was a fire just 5 houses from where i stay in Niigata.
Although it looked pretty chaotic, they seemed to have everything under control.
I am sorry that it isn't sharper, but this is the best the ixus could do with the light available this morning.

Hi Harry. I like this shot. Lots of energy and things happening. The composition works well with the red colors in the foreground and the muted background. Good work.

This is at once very dynamic and carefully composed. Good contrast of colours and neutrals.
In the 1970's I shot a whole roll (I thought) of 35mm film, from across the street, of a paint store on fire violently exploding repeatedly as firemen tried unsuccessfully to tackle the blaze. I couldn't believe the images I was capturing. Then I discovered to my dismay that the film hadn't threaded the spool correctly, so I had nothing. Glad nothing like that happened to you.

Hi Harry,
In japan now! Good one!
A fire fighting scene, full of smoke everywhere... Colors give the atmosphere, the lack of sharpness doesn't disturb the vie

Great action shot. Lucky that you had your camera, and even luckier that they got the fire under control. Entire blocks can be lost by fires in Japan!
You are up close and personal in this shot, and you really feel as if you're right there.

Nice action seen in this one Harry. The smoke (and steam) add to this sense of chaos. Nice little piece of photo journalism on your part.
Thanks, John

Hi Harry,
Such a nice reporter shot that I fully forgive the quality. And it isn't even that bad! Some colour noise due to the low light and subsequent high iso. But I like it!
What kind of work are you doing in Niigata? Just wondering :-).
Greetings,
Dennis

Hola Harry,
El resultado de esta foto es muy especial. La falta de nitidez no resulta molesta porque está muy compensada por el dinamismo de la acción y los atractivos tonos pasteles que has conseguido con ayuda del humo y la escasa luz. Una imagen muy plástica. Me gusta.
Saludos,
Mirari.

An impressive action scene, well captured. The blur is not a problem, regarding the mood of the moment. It's even a pertinent effect !! And you've got a cool soft grey light.

Hello Harry -
Even though this image has some compromises in quality it tells the story perfectly. Matter of fact, this image fits right in with your industrial series. Try converting to B&W using your unique PP techniques and see how it fits. Being there with your camera is the whole point - not art. Well done.
Thank you for sharing.

Hello
What a moment! The guy on the ladder looks like he's about to step off into nothing and the lads at the bottom look like they are sharing a naughty moment with a camera-phone

Hi Harry, coming to this a bit later but glad I saw it. The chaos that is in the scene is well captured with all the smoke and the slight fogginess of it all, so perhaps the limiting light in this case actually helped bring out the mood of this event more. Great to see this fire crew in action, as my recent happening upon a similar scene did not yield as exciting a result.
