Photographer's Note
010 / Evening at Datai beach, Langkawi
The beach at Langkawi's Datai bay has a well deserved reputation as one of the prettiest in Asia (and by extension, the world). This crescent shaped stretch of soft white sand and clear aquamarine waters is backed by a lush rainforest and fronted by unhindered views of Thailand's Ko Tarutao islands. Apart from being a picture-postcard setting, the area is a naturalist's delight, being home to a range of flora and fauna. Access to the beach, however, is largely restricted to guests and visitors at one of the two upscale resorts at either end of the beach - both well worth the expense.

Hi Prayash
Reading your interesting note, I would expect the blue sky, yellow sand but you have a very different and unique presentation. Those distant mountains and clouds look almost like a volcano erupting and the dark mood is fantastic. The rock in the sand gives the impression of boiling mud, adding to the heat of the volcano. Another beauty of a photo.
Best wishes
Noel
