Green Street, a photo from Pulau Pinang, West

Photographer's Note

At a hungry afternoon, I driving and turning around the city looking for a tourism location Gurney Drive, I meet this street named Lorong Selamat near to Gurney Drive. There is a restaurant famous with Char Kuey Teow.

According to Lonely Planet :-
"This is the place to go for the city's best char kway teow, but you'll also find lip-smacking won ton mee and other Chinese Penang favourites. The setting, on a dingy lane off of one of Penang's busiest streets isn't spectacular but the locals' enthusiasm for the food here creates a lively ambiance."

Many tourists and local people are like Char Kuey Teow at this restaurant. I found that the flavour of Chaw Kuey Teow served at this restaurant is very different with char kway teow in my home city Kuala Lumpur. This photo was shoot while I'm waiting for my meal.

Excellent POV very well selected with this large street which give a great prospect. The coloured elements - especially the flags- arise very well in this superb green of the impressive trees.

The trees and the flags are framing well the street. The point of view is sending my eyes toward the end of the street which is giving depth and perspective to the composition. The luminosity has a good effect on the colors. Have a nice day.

That's a very nice, interesting and attractive urban & street life photograph!
Those trees certainly adorn the place and make it much more pleasant-looking!
Sharpness, exposure, pov, dof, colors, pp, contrasts, horizontal & rectangular format, black & grey borders and composition are all excellent!

Hi Ally

Gurney drive once was the hawker paradise but that was almost 30 years ago, I still remember it. The first time I was eating there in 1983. Nowadays everything is much cleaner and less romantic ... and of course much more expensive. I know the street well, even the new one you were driving. Was it good the Char Kuey Teow? Good photo and note job.

Thanks for your critique of my Thai Wat upload from Prenang. Yes, the contrast of the new an old is there.

The view from the restaurant is splendid with the street bounded by these ancient trees, big effect of depth in this picture, beautiful colors with the aged trunks and the thick green branches. Good presentation with good balance of natural light and color.

nota :we can make this picture usualy in many area of Belgium!!!also like in my dear town of SPA trees in my country seems being the same they are named Platanes rather dangerous for road trafic, in Liège Town many big roads are also the same looklike ,kisses to you dear friend
