Photographer's Note

Ayeyarwaddy river is one of the largest water way in Myanmar. It's is the life blood of Myanmar, the way the Mekong to Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. Much the same as the Mekong, rising in the southern Himalayas, the river traverses the country from north to south for 2,170 kilometers (1,350 mi), emptying into the Andaman Sea through a nine-armed delta. More than just a economy powerhouse for Myanmar, it's a stunning landscape dotted with stupas, villages and farms along its bank.

Hi Thien, I just uploaded a picture with a title 'dreamy landscape', but I think your's deserves that title much more.
This is fabulous, it is as if the temple arises from the mist.
I am reminded of parts of the book of Tolkien, as if I am arriving in Elf land by boat.
This one goes right into my jewelbox

What a magic picture of a land that I know and love!!!! You have portrait the pacefull essence of the place, althought politicaly things seems to be going all the way around... But from the photo point of view this pictures is National Geographic staff. Congratulations from Madrid.

This comes out straight from a dream or from a fairie tale. It just can't be real. The blue tones and hue give a very moody atmosphere to your image. One of the rare photographs that make me think instantly : "I wish I was there!"

Wow, this is pure magic, just like in a dream... Incredible. The lonely boat on the silvery blue water, the beautiful temple, white with its golden roof, rising through the mist, the other spots of gold in the mountain, the great lights and colors... Very mystic, fairy-tale picture. Beautiful.

Beautiful photo, very peacefull and almost dreamlike. I agree with you, it's a stunning lanscape. the composition is very nice with the off centre temple and the boat to the left is a nice addition. The colours are beautiful. Well done!

Woww! this is just a dream place. I can't believe it's a shot..
it seems to me just some scenery of The Lord of the Rings.
The hole composition is just perfect. The blur and softly misty background with three temples in deep perspective.. and the small boat over those quiet waters.
The only thing I can say is that I hope to be there one day :)

Wonderful! This picture is a real delight for the eye. There's beauty, there's magic and there's also a story. It looks like the arrival of a couple of brave travellers at a land that they've never heard of before but that's both beautiful and peaceful. Great job.

when I discovered your photo I couldn't believe my eyes, it seems straight out an heroic fantasy story or "The lord of the rings" movies !
The way the pagoda raises out of the surroundings and contrasts with them as well as your composition with the boat and the placement of the various elements are excellent !

That's the kind of view I just can't imagine for real : the pic as itself is great, the cold colors are unbelievable, there's nothing to nitpick about. (or perhaps a bit soft optically, I don't mean focus but more about contrast).

As I'm mostly interested on how it was done, I would have liked to get a more general view of the surroundings. I wonder for instance at what time of the day you took it and what were the weather/shadow conditions.

Anyway a great pic.

Very nice shot. You have alot of depth to this shot. The mist creats a mystique and surreal atmosphere. However, my feeling is that you could have photoshopped it abit by cut a bit of the height of the photo. If you cut the photo just above the second temple half way up the mountain. This could make the scene more visually stimulating as I find the mountains are dull and take away the feel from the rest of the image.
