Photographer's Note
After the bloodiest day so far, I woke this morning to find my FB feed full of photos and stories from my Burmese friends. To counter my feelings of sadness, helplessness and anger, I will show you photos of the Burma I have grown to learn and love in my 12 visits there.
Nothing spectacular just a photo depicting the simple life in the village in which we stay. The men are farmers or fishermen, the women tend the fields and animals.

Hello Elaine,
The lady has a nice smile and looks very relaxed. I guess she knew you well and wasn't bothered by your camera. Her clothes brighten the mainly grey and brown surroundings.
Recent news from Burma are truly depressing, and the military rulers will probably not bow to any half-hearted pressure from the West, since they have China supporting them whatever they do.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Elaine, the woman is happy to pose for you, and she adds colour to the scene, where the homes are very basic.
It is a very interesting picture, thanks for sharing.
I hope that your Burmese friends are OK.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hi Elaine,
Muitas vezes a felicidade e a paz moram nos lugares mais simples e humildes. Quantas coisas aprendemos longe da escravidão do materialismo. É o que me transmite esta foto.
Parabéns e abraço

Hello Elaine,
There was a quiet peace when you took this photo, and now there is so much turmoil for the people of Myanmar. :-( This woman looks very relaxed, and her colorful clothes stand out against the earthy background. I the various birds roaming around, too. Take care!

Hello Elaine,
Vele groeten, Paul

Hi Elaine
A fantastic daily image of the villager, and it is so nice to see she's smiling for the picture. This is just wonderful and the colour of her clothes really standout against the background. It is tough looking life though and this makes us step back and be thankful for what we have got and lesson to learn too. Congrats and tfs
Best regards
