Photographer's Note
A father and son, run to catch the train to Yangon. I think he perhaps caught the birds himself and was taking them to sell in Yangon, but of course the story could be very different.
I saw him at the last minute and my settings in the camera were wrong for this scene. I tossed this photo once, but gave it a second chance by converting it to b/w. The blur of the slow shutter speed perhaps adds to the haste in which they were boarding the departing train.

Hello Elaine,
Another very nice scene from daily life that looks very good in B&W. The slight blur of the cages is not at all disturbing. Along with the slight blur of the man's right foot it shows that he was in a hurry. You did well to snap this at the right moment, and I also like the inclusion of the person leaning out of the window.
Regards,
Gert

Hello Elaine, a spontaneous shot, you saw the father and son and just had to take a picture of the scene.
I think that it is an excellent scene from daily life.
The woman is looking out of the window but seems to be looking beyond the two people on the platform.
I wonder where the man was going to place all the bird cages?
Thanks for sharing, kind regards, Jean.

Hello Elaine
Another image for the ages. The Black and White really captures the mood. Almost looks like an image form the 1940s war era. Really well done.

Hallo Elaine,
Vele groeten, Paul

Hi Elaine
The (minimal) blur does add to this photo. A good street photo.
By the look of the birds I'd guess that they were heading to a bird market, possibly one specialising in song birds.
cheers

Hello Elaine,
I sometimes think, as photographers, we are too critical with our own work. The blurring of the feet just promote the sense of movement and explain the passengers were in a hurry!. As an impromptu shot it is very successful.
The lady looking from the window is very interesting! She looks as if she is on a film set, deep in thought, maybe about whom she is going to meet or what she is leaving behind!
A fine narrative beginning ...!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Elaine
Interesting olde worlde atmosphere well spotted photo opportunity with all kind of stuff about going onboard! and that's a superbly chosen moment with intent. The B&W certainly works best here, does add to the dynamics with the feeling of movement of the potential passengers, father& son - and we can see the tension there...everything works just fine, perfectly timed & presented.
Best regards

Hi Elaine,
Excellent decisive moment shot. Yes I guess those birds are going for sale. I like the motion blur of the feet, but that also means that birds are not sharp. So there was no right exposure time for this.

Hi Elaine
Nice capture of this daily life in Myanmar. An old way of surviving in some countries. In Brazil, this crime is still practiced clandestinely, but the current laws are much tougher and this trade has decreased considerably.
Best regards
Ricardo
