Photographer's Note

Taken under one of the statues of the Bodnath stupa in Kathmandu. They were two children eating candies (that they got from?). These large black eyes were stunning. They were not really paying attention to me (many had certainly already taken pictures given how the location is well known). However, the child still seemed a bit surprised or thoughtful or amazed? This was fitting very well with the place (i mean Bodnath) which is so impressive.

Wonderful portrait Michel. You manage the contrast in light very well. If you haven't already encountered them, I'd encourage you to look at the work of Claude Renault and Maciej Dakowicz and Manuel Librodo, all of whom are excellent portraitists. You may also wish to check out work being done by Avishek Chakravarty who lives in India and is sharing with us excellent efforts made with his recently purchased Nikon D70. I welcome your fine contribution to the many excellent images we have at TE from this magical part of the world. Thank you so much.

Nice tight shot!i think you managed to balance the brighter background well with the child's face. Very well done!
PS- You may wan tot sharpen a little more befor posting. It sometimes makes the image appear softer than it really is.

You are lucky to meet this girl with beautiful big eyes which is gazing at you firmly. I really like this shot.
Maybe a tiny bit processing for her hair would be good, but this is so impressive shot!

Excellent shot of poor girl, do some sharpening and that's it, perfect. The DOF is very good. By the way, is she a beggar?

Certainly not the first or last good portrait of you, that I noticed already in your gallery.
This one has the same mark, not posing but almost studying you what you are doing and you see your reflections in her eyes.
Appropiate use of slightly darker colors towards a lighter background gives the nice feeling of intimity here.
Perfect and strong personal approach rather a unique one here on TE.

Wow, magnifique portrait. Quel beaux yeux. Ce qui m'impressionne le plus est le reflet dans ses yeux, c'est absolument superbe!
On dirait qu'elle est surprise mais en même temps, elle questionne pourquoi tu l'as prend en photo.
Vraiment BRAVO!

Ton image ma tellement inspiré que j'ai décidé de m'amuser un peu. Regarde ce petit workshop et donne moi tes impressions s.t.p.

Je ne l'avais pas commentée celle-ci. Pourtant, en regardant les miniatures, c'est une qui marque le plus. Et en l'ouvrant je n'ai pas été déçu. J'aime beaucoup l'expression de l'enfant, la qualité de l'image est excellente. J'aime beaucoup le cadrage aussi. Bien vu Michel!

Très beau portrait, cadrage, lumière... un regard qui est dur à soutenir. Les reflets dans les yeux, c'est un détail que j'apprécie fort. Cette un magnifique portrait d'enfant que tu nous offres là Michel. Bravo !

Cet enfant a l'air tellement charmant et sur la photo notre regard se fixe directement dans les yeux de celui-ci. J'aime bien cette photo.
