Photographer's Note
This sadhu from Pashupatinath was already there during our trip to Nepal in 2004 (see picture at http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Asia/Nepal/photo144678.htm) One year later, he is still there. We actually brought pictures of them from our previous trip. We will probably not go this year but hopefully in 2007. He will most likely still be there.
He wanted to show here how long his hair is.

The light on him and the dark background made this possible. Nice of center position in the frame and ample room in front of him. A very good work.

Hello Michel,
Super portrait, a+

Bonsoir Michel,

Hello Michel,
It is the contrasts of light and dark that make up for the composition which is exquisite. The light falling on his thick strands of hair in front of the dark shadowy areas are really beautiful. Interesting image... I was wondering how it is that sadhus show off anything, for they are to be unconcerned with the phenomenal world...

great. Not posed. I adore it.
One thing though - the background is a little distracting. I'd rather see him in more detail than having this compo with something distracting in the bacground. I'd crop it differently.
Otherwise perfetto!

An incredible looking man with amazing hair that is all you need to show in this shot.I fail to see why you did not crop out that right hand third of the shot that has nothing in it and concentrate totally on the sadhu.

a nice catch michel, very nice. are you sure this is not a repost from you? i have this incredible feeling of deja vu. maybe it's a common scene with this pose and long hair. either way, a beautiful image.
(for some reason i'm thinking of a closer crop on the left, not sure..)

Salut Michel,
