Photographer's Note

The place where I stayed in Tsarang, Mustang, the wife of the owner cooked dinner for me. She is cooking Thukpa (noodles). It was really an unusual place for me but due to their hospitality, it made me more comfortable. It was a home stay without any pay as they were my local fren's parents who would reject any payment. They treated me like their son.

A very fine b/w daily life photo. Superb conversion with good tonality and just the right amount of light on the highlights. I like the blurred movement of her arm and intense concentration on her face. Very well done.

The little insight in the daily life of this woman is more interesting than any architectural photo. We have so much more to learn about her and her culture. Evene with the movign hand, i still like the picture very much.

A stunningly beautiful shot. So rich and sharp but you still managed to blur the stirring motion of the womans arm. Stellar work!!!!

Marvelous shot! The use of Black & White creates a timeless image...and your selection of shutter speed brings the heat and movement of the kitchen directly to the viewer.

Hi Ravin,
A great black and white showing daily life, with good focus on her face and the blur movement of the arm is perfect to show that she is in the stirring process preparing your dinner. I like that we can see the surrounding kitchen environment with all the pots and other kitchen goodies. I am sure that the dinner was great too.

Hello Ravin - I love this B&W documentary-style shot. The low light is super with enough to give lovely highlights to the pots and pans and ladies face. The slow shutter speed has blurred the movement of her arm as she stirs the pot. What a privilege to stay in the families home. Warm regards Rosemary

This is a beautiful daily life shot. I like the motion of the woman cooking, and all of the silver pots behind and around her. You exposed this shot very well, and I think the B/W presentation is perfect for this scene.
