Photographer's Note

San Miguel a world-class pale pilsen that is proudly Philippine-made.

Its origins date back to 1889, when a Filipino businessman by the name of Don Enrique María Barretto de Ycaza y Esteban applied for a royal grant from Spain to brew beer in the Philippines.

The grant was awarded on 29 September (the feast day of St. Michael).

The original and trademark product if the full-bodied Pale Pilsen and through recent history, San Miguel Corporation have produced many variants of the lager beer. Shown in the photo is the low calorie, low carb San Mig Light.

Working overseas, I do make it a point to have my fill of ice-cold San Miguel Beer everytime I come home to vacation in the Philippines. San Miguel has become popular as well with expats working in the Philippines, and San Miguel Corporation has established breweries outside the Philippines (e.g. Hong Kong, China, Vietnam...) and exports San Miguel Beer to over 24 countries including the USA, UK and Australia.

This particular beer was ordered in another iconic Filipino restaurant, Max's (The House That Fried Chicken Built)...but that would probably be a subject of another photo.
