The Church os Elijah, the Prophet was built between 1647-50 in the place where there was two timber churches.
I was one of the most beautiful churches I saw in Russia, and I saw many of them.
The interior is covered with hundreds of murals, filled with personages and scenes of the Bible, in special the life of Elijah, the prophet.

A Igreja do Profeta Elias, foi erguida entre 1647 e 1650 no local onde antes havia duas igrejas de madeira.
É uma das igrejas mais bonitas que eu vi na Rússia, e eu vi muitas..
O interior é pintado com centenas de murais contado cenas da Bíblia, em especial detalhes da vida do profeta Elias.

Hello Jorge,
I understand your enthusiasm for this church. The paintings are really good and I get an impression that the artist used his own visions of art and was not entirely bound by the religious rules. The figures and the colours seem to express a kind of artistic freedom that make them interesting. Thanks to good exposure we get av very clear view of the paintings.

Hello Jorge,

Not an easy shot and I imagine that you would have to rotate, whilst looking upwards, to get the right orientation for the shot.

The murals are clear for us to interpret.
One scene looks like the angel Gabriel speaking to the shepherds.
I can also see churches with domes, reminiscent of those that you have photographed around the capital.

Hello Jorge, I have seen many churches in Russia, like you, maybe more and you are right, this church is one of the most interesting and beautiful. I do not remember this exact painting with the sheep and white horse. Good presentation, with excellent sharpness and good colours.

wow, this seems to be wonderfully decorated indeed. As if each and every inch of the wall was used to convey a message.

A good upward pov with attractive religious frescoes and excellent sharpness. Perhaps a tad more brightness and contrast? Effective tight framing and good saturation too. Tfs!
