Photographer's Note
Just a quick photo made from the window from a going transsiberian train to send you regards from Irkutsk. I had a great time in transsib. When I told that I plan to go by it alone, in the third class, I heard usually a comment: I wouldn't do it. And why? I enjoyed every minute of it. Very relaxing. You just sit by the window, look at the marvelous landscape, all the time forest with birches, like from Russian paintings. When you want to sleep or just a nap, you can do it any time. There is hot water all the time for a noodle soup or tea, from time to time some stop at the railway station. People very friendly, quiet, I haven't seen anyone drinking vodka. 60 hours 3700 km, passed very fast, I could go the next three days (to Vladivostok).
Almost no tourists.
In the Krasnoiarsk railway station we were at two o'clock in the night (22.00 Moscow time) I went with my camera. I hear: Woman! What are you doing here? - Making some photos. -Why? - To have as a souvenir. - Do you have permission? - Nooo.
I heard this "why are you making photos" many times.

Hello Malgo,
The scenery is quite nice, although probably not much different from northern Sweden (I have never been there), but maybe for a week or more it could get boring. The light and colours are fine and the sharpness is very good considering the train was moving. It seems that the Soviet way of thinking is still very strong in Russia. I am glad that Poland and Romania and other European countries have adapted better to modern times.
Kind regards,
Gert
By the way, did you see that it has now been "proven" that Jack the Ripper was a Polish immigrant? :-)

Hello Malgorzata,
Beautiful view over the tops of the birch trees. Nice to see the fields and hills in the background too. Good catch from the train window!

Ciao Malgo
Saluti
Carlo

Howdy Malgo,
Your scenic view of the Siberia forest from a train, is not the one of our American imaginations of a snow desolate landscape. The dense forest would probably be very scenic with autumn colors?
Hopefully with time we photographers will become less suspicious of espionage. In the U.S. the military bases are off limits to cameras, but our forests and parks, etc. are welcome.
Thanks for sharing,
Cheers,
Ray

Ciao Malgorzata,

Pozdrawiam serdecznie

a nice view of the forests and plains around. I had an idea to do this trip, but it would make me last many time for few attractions and I gave up.
here a very hot dry and smoky day, looks like cloudy, but there is a terrible blanked of smoke that came from central brazil, many natural landscapes and animals dieing there.
take care
jorge
