Photographer's Note

Today is my first anniversary on TE. I found here many nice pictures as well as many interesting places for future trips. Thanks for TE members I also improved my skills in photography. I like this site very much but I am very busy with my very young twins now...

Chukchi Sea near Wrangel Island (on the left), about 71° N. Calm evening, air temperature 4 °C.

We've travelled to this very remote and seldom-visited place two years ago with Quark Expeditions, you can also do the same next summer.

Hi Nikolay,
Congratulations for your first anniversary on TE and also for your young twins! I've always had a lot of pleasure in looking at your pictures from remote pictures and hope you'll still find some time to share some more with us.
I like the dark gray sky on this picture, even though I might have chosen something more coloful to celebrate this occasion!

Magnificent atmosphere in this image, any quite a few others that you have posted on TE this year. I like these dramatic landscapes and you registered them perfectly. I'd love to see those remote places myself. Very well done.

Hi Nikolay, Happy Anniversary. You pictures have brought us to view many hard to reach corners on the Earth. I really enjoy them.
This is another good example of the pictures can be taken only in expedition trips. Nice shot to see the black sea with white wave and dramatic cloudy sky. A very well taken picture. Thanks for sharing.

I just came back from Antarctica Peninsula. It was magnificent.

Your picture is very nice with these caracteristic clouds and light in Arctic. The larger place given at the sky is a good idea.

Nikolay - You have a strange knack of capturing the temperature of a place in a photo - his shot looks and feels so cold.

Amazing photo here, it's very simple and so moody - the dark ocean and undersides of the clouds contrast wonderfully with the white light behind. Very nice exposure and scale, the clouds still look huge even though they take up a small area of the photo, under the wonderfully textured cieling of cloudcover.
