Photographer's Note

This is a skeleton of a house that stands in the resort area of Repino since the commercial heyday of the early nineties. No one can say for sure, of course, but about three of such houses started to be built in a rather prestigious area at those times, and rumours flew that the houses belonged either to some gangsters or to some corrupt officials. True or not, but as times progressed and a lot of rough dealings occurred, the building process slowed and then stopped. Incomplete walls and foundations stood rotting under the rain and snow for 5 years and more. One such house skeleton was later finished (about 3 years ago), and does look like a small castle, another one was seemingly bought by someone as well, but this, the third one, still stays there as a silent reminder of the "brave new times" of early nineties Russia.

A small label in the lower left corner can be translated as something in between "No Tresspassing" and "No Outlet".
