Aigoo...till death do us part?, a photo from Seoul, North

Photographer's Note

Taken on my first trip to Korea. There is a palace called duck soo goong (thats what my friend tells me the name is. thank you Amy) I was there on a sunny day and there were at least 15 couples there walking around the palace grounds having their wedding pictures taken. The setting was so similar I would almost compare it to seeing allot of smiths from matrix every where i looked. It was always the same thing. the bride and her best friend (like in the picture here) and a photographer usually with some nice medium format camer and their assistant holding a reflector.

In this pic I liked the brides facial expression of serious concern almost as if she is wondering if this is the right decision and she seems nervous. meanwhile her friend in the background is jsut chatting away on the phone. Im sure you could write a 100 short stories as to what they bride might be thinking and what the girl on the phone is talking about. thats why i decided to post this pic.

Naw she was really stressed out. It wasnt the sunlight that made her looked sad. SHe was really worried about something. I remember her standing there looking like her life was over.

Badger- perhaps. wondering why he hasnt shown up yet... This wasnt the actual wedding this was jsut wedding pictures. Under the brides wedding gown she is wearing jeans :) Her friend in the sweatshirt her job is to just make sure the wedding dress doesnt get all messed up.

That really is a pensive expresion isn't? Very well captured - nicely tightly cropped, well done. Perhaps someone can post something about the phenomena of getting married in Western fashion in the far east? As I imagine that a fairy tale white merengue dress is not a tradtional korean wedding?

those two girls are so close to each other, but their minds are completely in different places, good shot, very Asian even with this western dress...

Intresting title used for a gloomy facial expression. I believe is the sun that makes her frowning her eyes. It is interesting that you had a very good exposure that captures details of the fabric and the sequinnes.

Great title and facial expressions, I might post a pic from a wedding I attended in Kobe.

I also love the other girl, the one on the phone, it shows what friends are really for.

Maybe her friend is calling the husband to find out where he was? That's a really nice sweatshirt, suitable for a wedding. Great shot though.

Good picture. She does lok like the girl in the 'Pisa' photo. Maybe she was worried about the trip to Pisa, whether the tower would still be standing when she got there :-))
Nicely cropped shot, and the face is a picture. Bien fait.
