Colors of Paradise, a photo from Eastern, North

Photographer's Note

I already have a few photos of Pigeon Island off the coast of Trincomalee in Sri Lanka. An island surrounded by coral reefs, the beach is full of dead coral washed up the Tsunami of 2004. But this little island is an absolute tropical paradise. While tourism is on the rise and the other side of the island was full of swimmers, this side (earmarked for snorkeling) was relatively free. I loved the beautiful blue sky, the turquoise water and the way the colorful boat was set off on the white sand (and coral) beach.

I love the perspective of this shot, the boat is such a great anchor point to draw our vision, it stretch out toward us, almost like 3 dimensional object. Great sky, simple and effect composition, the yellow tone is a bit strong but it give it an older photo quality. I like it very much.
