Photographer's Note
In my three years of taking picture, I developed a gut-feeling about certain people that I met along the way. When I saw this little girl, I knew I have to take a picture of her. She has the face of an angel and a very profound expression in her eyes that borders on mystery and wisdom. I followed her and ask permission from her parents. She was not cooperative but when she looked up to her brother, I caught that special moment. What does the future hold? SHE IS THE FUTURE.
Taken in Kanchanaburi, Thailand.

Magnificent shot! The expression of the photo is so strong I felt shivers down my spine for a moment...a great load of melancholy. If the future is what you can see in her face, I fear it will be the age of tears.
Beautiful light, wonderful tonation and contrast. Excellent!

There's so much build-up with this shot. I don't know how else to say it... a special sort of tension or electricity in the air.
The light is beyond amazing and the focus is, as ever, spot on.
Great work!

Everything comes together in this shot! The expression is profound and thought provoking. The lighting is just right, with the slight shine off the face and arms accentuating the shapes. The composition is great, with the subject slightly off centre and the bricks behind providing a textured backdrop (I don't like a totally black, or white background). The processing is also incredible, I had to double check to make sure this was taken with digital and not black & white film. Marvelous work!

You are the master of portraits Manny, however I would like to see you try something new. Your talent is astonishing but if you were here in the UK you would not be so lucky finding subjects to photograph. Please dont take this as a negative but I feel you should explore different subject matter and push your boundaries a bit further.

Good pose and glance captured, Manny. The upward look, her expression and the shining eyes all add up to a touching photo that holds the attention of every viewer who has a heart.
I have to admit that in terms of your post-processing on your recent postings, you are losing me a little. There is certainly a fair amount of personal taste involved as far as how much contrast one likes to see in a portrait, but for my own liking it was way overdone in "Jungle Boy", overdone in "Everywhere", and in this one the nose and parts of the forehead are also looking a bit more luminous than they should. Again, it's just my preference I'm talking about - I don't need to tell you that you know how to skillfully frame portrait photos.

This photo is a little darker than most of your images, Manny. I like the mood and the effect here. The light is on the face, right where it should be. This is great stuff!

Oh my... what a great shot! The light on the face of this girl is superb and the contrast with the darkness that surrounds her is absolutely stunning. Your timing is excellent here; your note proves once again that patience and timing is of major importance to make excellent pictures. This is certainly one of them.

Whether or not she wanted to, she had a beautiful picture taken. Her pouty gaze is quite startling coming out of the dark surroundings. Good work.

I like the colours tone in all your shots, they are just so vivid and is like they are going to jump out of the screen any moment. This one is no exception, great captured on her expression, those sparkling eyes just captured my heart.
