Photographer's Note

Three pictures showing strange construction in Bukhara. Kasia called it the Giant' birdcage. But what is it? I tried to find out and what I read in TripAdvisor:
This example of a steel water tower was constructed after the Soviet invasion destroyed the cistern infrastructure in Bukhara. This tower is definitely a good example of Soviet utilitarian minimalism. It is just across the 40 Pillars mosque, on your way to the Ark Fortress, so you can miss it, and should stop to admire it for a minute or two. Until a few years ago, when a girl accidentally fell to her death, one could go to the top and admire the city view. Currently, this is no longer an option.

On two lower pictures, you can see it from Ark (the fortress).
But if look carefully in the lowest one, you will see that there is someone up. There are nice stairs but it is impossible to climb it.
