Photographer's Note
We met this little girl just outside of a little village close to Sapa. Places like this really make travel worthwhile. We were both struck by how greatly her childhood differs from when we were children. I some ways, we envy her.
This shot is a little grainy as the original slide was underexposed. I had been helping some fellow travellers with their camera and exposure, etc, and had forgotten to reset my own. Ofcourse, it is much easier to rescue an overexposed image (providing the highlights have not blown), than an underexposed one.

I like this photo a lot...it's got great compostion with the way she's nicely framed in the shot with the pathway she's walking on and the tree limbs she's carrying in her arms. She's also got a great expression on her face, too...as if she's willing those sticks to stay where they are! And her clothing is interesting, too, although her poor legs look like they've taken a little beating. I like your note, in some ways, I think she is more fortunate to have a simpler life (albiet harder) than children I see in my country.

She is faboulous. You made a great capture showing how hard life of many children in the world can be.
His expression say everything.

Hi Anthony. One doesn't look at the grainy aspect when one has such an arresting subject. The concentration on that little face is wonderful. You caught a very special moment. So young and such responsibility. Reminds me of an old, famous French B&W taken in a Paris street of a boy carrying a bottle of wine home for dinner. The look on his face- a mixture of pride(Dad trusting him) and anxiety. I can see echoes of it here. Regards, Klaudio

Very good picture... Even if there is a very big problem with the compression and/or the sharpening. The short depth of field is a great choice and the centered composition is ok for me... Great shot IMHO.

Very successful action picture.
You must be proud of this achievement except the overexposure as you stated.
Great, great!

(I have posted a workshop, I hope you like it...)
Hey,
I really love this picture!
Great expression on her face and you can really see that she is absorbed in what she is doing! Great work Anthony! Your note is really helpful too!
I just didn't really like the large expanse of path infront of her, I think it takes away a little from the focus of the image, as the foreground was out of focus obviously too. I increased the shade of the overall image a bit more red too...
Let me know if you like it! You can disagree!
