The ancient and atmospheric Cham temple complex of My Son is inland from Hoi An and usually visited as a day trip. These Hindu temples were constructed between the 4th and the 14th century by the Kings of Champa.
The complex suffered badly from American bombing during the Vietnam War but some of the towers were fortunately spared. The workshop shows a different structure.
Keeping the jungle at bay is a constant challenge and some parts weren't very visible on our visit in 2011.
We were lucky and visited on a day with reasonable weather but floods cut the access road the day after our visit.
