Photographer's Note
This type of salt production is a low-cost technology that is known and used in shallow coastal regions throughout Southeast Asia. Let the sea water flowed in the fields at high tide. Over a period of sunny days, the water would evaporate and leave the white salt on the surface. Hundred of workers started collecting the salt, transporting up to the dyke. A worker may transport an average of 1 – 2 tones per day.

Hello Mr Ly,
This is an attractve and informative picture, very well composed. The long and irregular lines of mounds of white salt look very nice against the blue surface of the water. It's amusing to see the resemblance in shape of the conical hats and the collected salt.
Regards,
Gert

hello Hoang,
your photo made me discovery your gallery, which I didn't know, and it's really a beautiful gallery, full of suggestive and impressive images- my compliments!
I knew about this type of salt production but I didn't know that every worker would move so much salt...
I like the vivid light and contrast here, as Gert says the resemblance between the conical hats and the salt heaps gives the photo a nice touch.

very interesting photo, I like a lot the somewhat surreal combination of crystal-clear water and salt mounds, the silhouettes of the people look like tiny ants in this strange world. I just wish we could see more of the lines of the mounds, I think it would add to the sense of vast space and great distance, and exaggerate the surreal feeling even more.
best,
Kristine

That looks fantastic, even surreal with the presence of the piles of salt in the background.
