Dramatic Cloudscape, a photo from Christ Church, South

Photographer's Note

These dramatic clouds were photographed just before sunset. The way they are illuminated makes them look like they are streaming away from the brightness.

This view was taken looking out to sea with the ocean immediately below the frame. The air is so clear that the detail in the clouds can be seen all the way down to the horizon.

The photo looks like a panoramic shot but it is in fact a long, thin crop from one single frame rather than several frames stiched together. I have posted a larger version as well.

For comparison, here is a picture I shot about 10 minutes after this one and posted a few days ago...

Beautiful sky, clouds and light! The colours are superb and I like hoe the clouds are scattered over the sky. Well captured!

Love the photo. It's weird, because it is quite calm on the right, but almost stormy on the left. Nice shot!!

Beautiful clouds. The colors are fantastic and you handle them well. I particularly like the sense of movement in this photo as if the clouds are running away from the sun.
