A sunset in Trinidad, Cuba.

On the coast of the Pacific, not far away from the beautiful colonial city of Trinidad, a cafe-owner seemed to be aware of the photo-enthusiasts' fondness and placed a few old cars on its front yard, which made it a favorite place for visitors.

A few hundred yards away, one of the most spectacular sunsets I've seen was materializing. I pulled over the car, jumped over the trunk to have a higher angle. In a few seconds, I realized I had company: Thousands of mosquitos which were eager to taste Turkish blood. :-)

Scanned from slide, increased sharpness and brightness. Applied levelling, graudal toning and retouches.

Merhaba sevgili Erdem Bey,

The sky and sea, or "hava-su", seemingly on fire. It's a very effective image and an equally effective note. Is that driftwood seen in silhouette? Perhaps in your stay in the United States I became aware of Lake Havasu in the US Southwest. I told a linguist friend of mine about the meaning of "Havasu" in Turkish, and he speculated that the expression indeed comes from the collective memory of ancient migrations from Central Asia.
