Photographer's Note

Roseau is a beautiful Caribbean city. It has a lot of grand, and very old residences. The city is constructing new structures all over the place as the port is getting busy every year.

If you like to walk two or three hours from the port, visit the huge botanical gardens in the city. The Botanical Gardens have a variety of areas with formal landscaping, wild jungle, cultivated agricultural areas, research gardens, and winding paths that go from near sea level to a cliff high above the small city. There are beautiful views of the city, the sea, and the gardens from the cliff top. There are hundreds of colorful tropical birds and insects, mainly in the wild jungle area but also in the formal landcaped part of the gardens. These gardens are huge so leave at least two or three hours to walk to the park and tour around and walk back to your ship. Admission to the Botanical Gardens is free.

This photo was taken as you approach the wild jungle part of the gardens.
