Photographer's Note

This picture was shot in an old colonial landmark called "Fortaleza Ozama" (which is in fact the first fortress and jail in the Americas, now an UNESCO World Heritage Site). To climb the tower (which stands nearly 20 meters up, a real skyscraper by colonial standards) you need to use these old steps, each one 20 centimeters high. From my vantage point it's over three meters to the ground using just 15 steps. The shadows were placed nicely across the steps and this lady served as my unknowingly model in order to give reference and a subtle human touch.
