Photographer's Note

There is a lot to say about this picture and how I managed to make it. First of all, I felt like a papparazzi for a while. Second thought is that this only can be done in a country like mine, where still people is camera-friendly. Third, it was a nice couple and they were very loving with each other. And fourth, after all, they laughed at my shots.

Yesterday I took the day off and went down to El Malecón, to see if I could make some shots. The day was extremely hot as we are still in the hottest months of the year, so few people were outdoors.

Near the "Obelisco Hembra" (a monument near the Colonial City) there is a nice restaurant just in the place in which an old fortress was built by the Spaniards in the XVI Century. That fortress/restaurant has an hightower from which you can see the Ozama River entrance. I went there to shoot the view framing the little window. After a few shots, I noticed this young couple. They were totally unaware of my presence, and they were pretty loving with each other. They managed to go pretty far away from everybody else, and under that Almond tree they simply kissed and hugged for about an hour after I "discovered" them. I simply couldn't resist the temptation and I focused them and shooted a bunch of pictures of them in her loving manouvers. They were very "clean" as they only kept kissing and hugging, never going farther than that.

When they finally decided to leave, I reached them and confessed my sins to them. I gave them my personal card and urged them to drop me a line as I intend to send them some of the best shots I did.

They made that place to be magic. And my window will never be the same again.

I'll post later a near shot of the couple under the tree as a workshop.
